BLACK MOON

2020

In this time of uncertainty, chaos and social-isolation, we feel more overwhelmed by the outside world than ever before. At the same time we are also looking closer to ourselves, and being more sensitive with our own feelings. Black Moon is a look inside, an introspection. A flow of colored light spots constantly falling down the screen while a black moon floating in front. It’s both an entrance and an outlet, a void, a black hole. Based on a face-detecting algorithm, the moon and the lights are both controlled by the subtle emotion change captured by the webcam. Whether flooded by strong emotions or calmly observing, we can’t stop reacting to our own feelings while feeding more into it.
